Clouds in New mexico 09.09.09

Ever seen a beautiful cloud picture such as this ? I tell ya .. New Mexico has some of the best clouds. sunrise and sunsets i've ever seen !!

world will end today 09.09.09

If you're reading this, then it's pretty safe to say that he world hasn't ended.

Today, the ninth day of the ninth month of the ninth year, was heralded by some doomsayers as the end of the planet.
Over the past few weeks, web chatrooms devoted to alien conspiracies, doomsday cults and numerology - the belief that numbers have mystical significance - have been buzzing with talk of 09/09/09.
Some warned of an outbreak of killer swine flu. Others that the world would be sucked into a black hole created by the Cern particle collider in Switzerland

Instead, the most exciting thing likely to happen today is the release of a Beatles computer game and the announcement of a new Apple iPod.

Bottomless Lakes state park - sept 5 2009

Bottomless Lakes was New Mexico's first designated State Park. It is a twelve mile drive east of Roswell on U. S. Highway 380, then seven miles south on New Mexico Highway 409.

The lakes are bottomless in name only. None is more than ninety feet deep, but the illusion of great depth and the greenish blue color is created by algae and other aquatic plants covering the lake bottoms. In actuality, they are sink holes rather than lakes and range in depth from 17 to 90 feet. They were formed when circulating underground water dissolved salt and gypsum deposits to form subterranean caverns. Ultimately, the roofs of the caverns collapsed from their own weight to form the sink holes that soon filled with water. They are all quite small and only Lea Lake is large enough to support swimming and other water recreational activities. It is on the south end of the group, where the day use and camping areas are located

Peaceful Thursday ( Aug 27 2009)

Wow today is so nice. It's not to hot but not to cold either. there is blue sky with a few clouds. I got my butt up out of bed at 6.15 am to see my husband off to work and begin my day which i can tell its going to be a peaceful relaxing day.
I was outside seeing my two older kids off to school ( as they walk now on their own) school here on base is about 10 mins from our house.
Anyhow i was greeted by this critter who was just chillin' on our outside window screen. I must have been there for a good 10 mins or so just watching him and taking pics. he didnt move or seem to be bothered by the fact i was there. And now i know why the grasshoppers/crickets around here make so much noise , look at the size of this one ?!!! LOL
I hope you all have a wonderful day
